Cities offer residents options for ditching the tree

Each city has a different program to help residents properly recycle their Christmas trees. The Tree Recycling Hotline is 974-6902, or search the Web site at www.recycle.slco.org.

Recycling locations

Alta

(10380 E. Hwy. 210)

Christmas trees may be dropped off on the west side of the beige recycling trailer Dec. 26-Jan. 23

Bluffdale

Trans Jordan Landfill at 10873 S. 7200 West will accept and recycle Christmas trees from residents at no charge until Jan. 31. Residents will be charged a fee if trees are flocked, in plastic bags or in mixed loads.

(Christmas trees must be covered and secured.)

Copperton

Curbside pick-up on regular scheduled garbage collection days starting Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

Draper

Christmas trees will be collected at Draper City Public Works, 14501 S. Minute Man (East Frontage Road) until Jan. 9.

Herriman

Curbside pick-up on regular scheduled garbage collection days starting Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

Holladay

Curbside pick-up on regular scheduled garbage collection days starting Dec. 26-Jan. 31.

Midvale

Curbside pick-up on Jan. 1-13.

Trees can also be dropped off at the Midvale City Public Works Shop at 8196 S. Main from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. until Jan. 13.

Murray

Christmas trees will be collected at the following locations Dec. 26-Jan. 14:

• Grant Park: 6150 S. Main

• Murray City Park: 5100 S. State (adjacent to the Murray Park Center)

Riverton

Christmas trees will be collected Dec. 26 through the month of January.

• Riverton Centennial Park: 13100 S. 2700 West
