Healthful bread just like your grandmother used to make

Jackson started making challah because they received a lot of requests for it.
Challah is bread traditionally eaten by Jews on the Sabbath, ceremonial occasions and holidays. Although their challah is not certified kosher, which would require a Rabbi coming to supervise some of the baking, they follow the Jewish customs when making challah, Jackson said.
The bakery also offers more than bread.
"I guess we also do some goodies that don't fit into the 'healthy,'" Jackson said.
Brownies, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls are also on the menu, Funk said. Other goodies that could still be considered healthy are the wheat cinnamon rolls and low-carb cookies.
Not surprisingly, Jackson's five children prefer the brownies to the seven-grain bread.
After spending the morning and sometimes part of the afternoon at the bakery, Jackson goes home and sometimes she cooks up some bread dough and eats it with her children.
But she hasn't taught them how to throw it against the ceiling yet.
"I'm worried about the repercussions," Jackson said. "Especially of my eight-year-old son doing that."
