'Pop Art' exhibition to start at UVSC

OREM — Utah Valley State College's Woodbury Art Museum presents the "Pop Art" exhibition featuring portraits of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol as well as pieces from well-known artists Roy Lichenstein, Robert Indiana, Peter Max, Alex Katz and Robert Rauschenburg.

Pop Art emerged in the late 1950s. It parallels real life and mimics popular culture, consumerism, materialism, individualism and prominent figures in society with minimal abstraction.

The free exhibition will run from Jan. 6 to Feb. 4, Tuesday to Saturday, from noon to 8 p.m. The Woodbury Art Museum is located in the University Mall (between Nordstrom and The Gap), 575 E. University Parkway, Orem.
