BRIGHAM CITY Two people were killed in an accident Wednesday involving multiple vehicles on Main Street.
Just after 5 p.m., a 75-year-old Brigham City man was driving a small car northbound at about 1200 South and for some unknown reason drifted into oncoming traffic, said Brigham City police Lt. Mike Nelsen.
A vehicle headed south in the oncoming lane swerved to miss the man and drove away. A second vehicle also swerved to avoid a collision but side-swiped him, causing no injuries. The man's vehicle then hit a third vehicle, head on, Nelsen said.
The man died at the scene and the 64-year-old female driver of the third car was taken to Brigham City Community Hospital where she died of injuries sustained in the accident, Nelsen said.
A medical examiner was called to investigate what may have caused the man to lose control of his car.
