WHAT THEY DID

Following practice on Tuesday, a few players and coaches went to Sunrise Children's Hospital to visit patients there. The team participated in the Fremont Street Experience, which included a buffet, a pep rally and a "Battle of the Bands" Tuesday night.

BYU REPORT

On Tuesday, BYU practiced without pads for about one hour in the morning at Valley High School under sunny skies. Temperatures were considerably warmer than they were for Monday's practice. The offense looked sharp, particularly in the red zone. For the second straight day, the first-team defense struggled to stop the scout team offense.

CAL REPORT

Cal practiced at UNLV Tuesday. Coach Jeff Tedford said he was grateful to have a couple of weeks to prepare for BYU's 3-3-5 defense. "They are very physical up front. The 3-3-5 really causes a lot of confusion, and it's not something that you see every day. Having extra time to prepare for it has been a benefit. They do a nice job and get after you pretty good and do a good job of mixing you up, keeping you off balance. It can cause some problems."

TODAY

The Kickoff Press Conference will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The conference will feature coaches and players from BYU and California. Tonight, players and coaches will leave their families at the team hotel, the Golden Nugget, and move to a different hotel to focus on Thursday's game.
