Bush is going too far

The recent revelations that President Bush authorized the National Security Agency to spy on American citizens here in the United States without first acquiring warrants is outrageous. As far as I am aware, this is the first time a president has authorized government agencies to violate a specific criminal prohibition and eavesdrop on Americans. This, along with Bush's long-standing torture policy and the pre-emptive invasion of Iraq, go so far beyond the bounds of what decent Americans have accepted as the norm for more than two centuries.
