Closing cave saves lives

Matt Brown (Readers' Forum, Dec. 6) obviously is not up on the news about deaths at the controversial Nutty Putty cave. I seem to recall that three youths died there all at once. That was a deciding factor in its closing. To leave it open would be akin to encouraging young, inexperienced youths to play Russian roulette. The government wants to save lives that needn't be lost. Buckling up is another example of forcing us to be sensible.
