WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Ali Marchant has been named the Utah State Athlete of the Week Marchant, a senior center from Bountiful, scored a season-high 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and blocked a career-high-tying four shots in USU's 96-73 loss at Idaho State Friday. She shot 11-for-15 from the floor during the game and is now shooting a team-best clip of 59.5 percent. The points also moved her into 10th-place on the Aggie career scoring list with 680 career points.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Riding a five-game winning streak, the BYU women's basketball team plays two games this week. The Cougars (5-0) are at UC Riverside (3-2) on Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. MDT, and then host Northern Arizona (5-1) on Dec. 10 in a 2 p.m. tipoff.

WRESTLING: Utah Valley State senior wrestler Erkin Tadzhimetov has been invited to compete in one of the nation's most prestigious wrestling tournaments later this month. The Midlands Wrestling Championship, held Dec. 29-30 in Evanston, Ill., on the campus of Northwestern University, is an invitation-only tournament that features some of the most talented amateur wrestlers in the country.

Tadzhimetov is currently ranked 19th in the nation in the NWCA/InterMat poll at 133 pounds. "It's an honor just to be invited," said Utah Valley State coach Cody Sanderson.
