GETTING THERE: Near Socorro, N.M., located just off I-25, midway between Albuquerque and Las Cruces. Take exit 115, go south on Highway 1, to County Road 1598 east.
BOSQUE DEL APACHE: www.fws.gov/southwest/refuges/newmex/bosque or 505-835-1828. Open daily from an hour before sunrise to an hour after sunset. The visitors center is open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Admission: $3, paid at the visitor center or the entrance to the tour loop.
GETTING THERE: From the north, go 18 miles south on I- 25 to Socorro. At exit 139, go east on U.S. 380 to San Antonio, then south on Highway 1 for eight miles to the visitors center. From the south, take I-25 to exit 124, then go north on Highway 1 to the visitors center.
