Cephalon Inc., the maker of the sleep-disorder drug Provigil, has agreed to buy closely held Zeneus Pharma Ltd. of the United Kingdom for about $360 million in cash to expand sales of cancer drugs in Europe.
The acquisition of Oxford, England-based Zeneus Holdings, the parent company of Zeneus Pharma, probably will be completed in the first quarter of next year at the latest, Pennsylvania-based Cephalon said Tuesday.
Cephalon has a manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City.
The transaction would be Cephalon's third this year to bolster its offerings of cancer drugs.
