PROVO Carlos de Icaza, Mexican ambassador to the United States, will present a lecture titled "Mexico-U.S. Relations" on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in B-092 Joseph Fielding Smith Building.
Ambassador de Icaza is a career diplomat who joined the Mexican Foreign Service in 1970 as vice-consul. He served as ambassador to Ecuador, Argentina, Belgium and Luxembourg and Japan before his appointment as ambassador to the United States in 1994.
He has represented Mexico in several multilateral meetings of the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the International Labor Organization and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. He has published two books on international relations and has received decorations from 17 countries.
