"It will be big," Schweizer said.
Unlike most towns, the Chamber of Commerce in Leavenworth (corner of Ninth and Commercial streets) is open seven days a week, Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays; 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
From lodging assistance to tourist questions, Schweizer said the chamber is there to serve visitors.
Day trips from Leavenworth to Seattle, Lake Chelan or Grand Coulee Dam are also possible.
There's a religious side to Leavenworth. It has 17 churches in town, including a branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
To reach Leavenworth, go north on I-84, turn onto I-82, past Pendleton, toward the Tri-cities. Go through Yakima to Ellensburg, then north an hour's drive on Highway 97 and then west three miles on Highway 2 to Leavenworth.
