PROVO Garbage pickup will be delayed across Utah Valley this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday and the one-day holiday closing of the county landfill.
Utah County residents who typically have their garbage collected on Thursday and Friday will have their pickup delayed by one day.
Provo and Springville, which handle their own waste pickup, will delay trash pickup one day. The firms that service other parts of the county Waste Management and Allied Waste (formerly BFI) also will come a day later than usual.
Areas serviced by Waste Management include Orem, Lehi, Benjamin, Genola, Lakeshore, Palmyra, Payson, Santaquin, Spanish Fork and West Mountain.
Areas serviced by Allied Waste include Saratoga Springs, American Fork, Highland, Pleasant Grove and Eagle Mountain, plus recycling in Lindon.
