National group elects Utahn

Community Health Centers director to assume post next fall

Eligio G. White, executive director of Community Health Centers Inc., Salt Lake City, has been elected chairman-elect of the National Association of Community Health Centers. He will assume the office next fall.

"Eligio White will bring tremendous energy and spirit to the leadership post at NACHC when his term of office begins," said Tom Van Coverden, president and CEO of NACHC. "He is a tireless advocate for the medically underserved and is nationally recognized for his initiatives in the field of community health. He will bring a unique and informed perspective to the table."

White has served as treasurer of NACHC and worked on a variety of NACHC committees, including the farmworker and legislative committees. He was vice chairman of the health policy committee and won a number of NACHC awards for his service and commitment.

NACHC is a national organization representing community, migrant and homeless health centers that serve 15 million patients living in rural and urban communities around America and in the U.S. territories.
