S.L. police to crack down on holiday jaywalkers

Shopping and jaywalking aren't a good mix for the holiday season as the Salt Lake City police department will be strictly enforcing all pedestrian-related laws this year.

Police will be citing offenders for various driving and walking offenses, including failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk and jaywalking.

Salt Lake City police detective Dwayne Baird said he encourages drivers and pedestrians alike to be mindful of the increase in foot traffic and motorists.
