'Seussical' opens Friday at Egyptian
Popular Broadway musical plays through Dec. 31 at Park City theater
"Seussical the Musical," opening Friday and playing through Dec. 31 in the Egyptian Theatre in Park City, is the only nonholiday production to open this week in the region.
Directed and choreographed by Jim Christian, the Broadway musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty is based on several Dr. Seuss tales. (Ahrens and Flaherty also collaborated for "Ragtime," "Lucky Stiff" and "Once on This Island.")
The cast includes Aaron de Jesus as the Cat in the Hat, Kenneth Wayne as Horton the Elephant, Ali Bennett as Gertrude, Victoria Nones as Mayzie and David Glenn as JoJo, with Glen Carpenter and Elizabeth Hansen as the Mayor and Mrs. Mayor of Whoville.
Reserved-seat tickets range from $19-$32 for adults, $17-$26 for senior citizens, $14-$18 for students, and $12-$16 for children, 12 and under. Tickets are discounted during the first two weeks of the run (435-649-9371 or 888-243-5779).
