Utah

BASEBALL: University of Utah head baseball coach Bill Kinneberg has announced the signing of four students to national letters of intent. Three junior college transfers and one high school senior will join the Utes in 2007.

Utah signed three pitchers, all with local ties. Jarrod Freeman is a senior at Alta High School, while Geoff Wolfgramm and Travis Barnett will both play this spring at Salt Lake Community College. Wolfgramm is from West Jordan and Barnett is from Castledale. The Utes' fourth early signee is Nick Lowery, a shortstop from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College. He is from Driggs, Idaho.

Utah State

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah State coach Raegan Pebley announced Monday the signing of four prep players to national letters of intent. The quartet includes post players Nicole Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., and Caitlin Kearns of Ventura, Calif., and guards Indira Kaljo of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and LeeAnn Palo of Woodinville, Wash.

CROSS COUNTRY: Tiffany Strickland and Trever Ball were announced as competitors for NCAA nationals. The championships will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 21. Strickland, a senior from Orem, finished in 10th place at the NCAA Mountain Regionals on Saturday. Ball, a senior from Hyrum, was 12th.

Utah Valley

WRESTLING: Utah Valley State wrestler Rodney Sager rolled through the competition on Sunday, winning the 20 & Under division of the Cowboy Open in Laramie.
