FOOTBALL: Junior receiver Nathan Meikle has been named Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America.
BASEBALL: Mike McKeever, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound outfielder from San Diego; Brad Kidd, a 6-3, 225-pound right-handed pitcher from Salem, Ore.; and Austin Hall, a 6-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher/shortstop from Danville, Calif., signed with the Cougars.
VOLLEYBALL: Middle blocker Lindsy Hartsock was honored this week for her success both on the court and in the classroom as she was named to the CoSIDA Academic District VIII Second Team.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: In its final tune-up before the regular season begins, BYU fired past Mesa State, 98-64, Friday at the Marriott Center. The Cougars start regular-season play on the road Nov. 19 when they play Cal State-Northridge.
