OREM Students at Utah Valley State College on Friday will discuss the need for an engineering program at the college with business leaders and Utah Senate President John Valentine, R-Orem.
The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. in CS 404. Students and the public are invited.
UVSC has a pre-engineering program. When students complete the program, they must find another major or transfer to another school because UVSC does not offer any engineering majors. Pre-engineering student Derrick Jensen said he surveyed math and physics students about their interest in engineering majors. "There (were) well over 200 students who were interested in engineering degrees," he said.
