Utahns have a new online tool to find out where flu vaccine is available this flu season. The Flu Vaccine Locator was developed by the Utah Department of Health to provide statewide information about vaccine clinics.
Information is accessed by selecting the county and preferred dates. It's found online at the Utah Immunization Program Web site at www.immunize-utah.org by clicking the Flu Vaccine Locator link. It will be updated as new information is available.
The department also has an online influenza page with updates on flu-related statistics, vaccine recommendations and disease facts. It can be found at health.utah.gov/flu.
The vaccine is now available to the general public regardless of risk status, but because of distribution timing, vaccine may be limited for brief periods of time, according to the department.
For information about flu vaccine, contact your health-care provider or visit a public health clinic, go online to the new locator or call the Immunization hotline at 1-800-275-0659.
