OREM Pulitzer prize-winning reporter David T. Barstow will speak Wednesday at noon in the grand ballroom of the Sorensen Student Center at Utah Valley State College.
Barstow, a New York Times reporter, will address academic freedom and First Amendment rights on the 21st century college campus.
Barstow has worked as a journalist for nearly 20 years, and has covered issues surrounding the 2000 presidential race and financial aid for victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
He won the 2004 Pulitzer in public service for examining death and injury among American workers and exposed employers who broke safety rules.
Before joining the staff at the New York Times, Barstow worked for the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, where he was a finalist for three Pulitzer prizes.
