Southern Utah's football team remains home for its second straight contest in Eccles Coliseum on Saturday after spending five of the first six competitive weekends away from home. This week, the Thunderbirds host North Dakota State in a Great West Football Conference game.
Last Saturday, Southern Utah (1-5, 1-1 GWFC) rallied in the fourth quarter for the second straight week, but this time the Thunderbirds' efforts were rewarded as the team came back for a 20-17 overtime win over Northern Colorado. SUU tied the game at 17-17, forcing overtime, then prevailed in the extra session when Brandon Perkins' 43-yard field goal split the uprights.
North Dakota State (4-3, 0-2 GWFC) is coming off its first home loss of the season, a 20-14 GWFC setback against UC Davis.
