How will local teens celebrate the Halloween season? To find out, Deseret Morning News sent its Pulse Team of teenage reporters into the schools, the corn mazes and other spooky places.

The reporters came back with thoughts on the appropriate age to go trick-or-treating, as well as a first-person story from a former actor in the horror industry.

They also reviewed a number of the Wasatch Front's haunted attractions — to help the rest of us find a thrill our hearts can take.

You've got one weekend left to take in a corn maze or a haunted house, so our Deseret Morning News team of Pulse reporters offers some suggestions to help you find the attraction right for you.

What: Halloween Adventure Cruise

Where: CLAS Ropes Course, 3606 W. Center, Provo

Ages: All ages

Prices: $5 ($15 for a family)

Tips: Wear warm clothing or bring a blanket.

In short: First off, this is not scary, nor is it meant to be. It is a great little boat ride with a Halloween theme. The man steering the boat recites a poem and plays sound clips from Halloween movies. The boat goes on a small part of Provo River, yet you can hardly believe you are still in Provo. The scenery looks like you are down in Mississippi. This is a great place to take the whole family for a nice night out. It is even an idea for a relaxing date. They also have a Christmas cruise at Christmas time. — Coryn Cope, senior, Timpview High School

What: Nightmare on 13th

Where: 1300 S. 300 W., Salt Lake City

Cost: $13-$16

Tips: On Friday and Saturday the lines are pretty long, so come early or plan on waiting. Don't follow too close behind the people in front of you, or many of the best surprises will be spoiled.

In short: If you want to get your money's worth, let your imagination run wild. This haunted house can be fun and exciting if you let yourself be scared. It is recommended that you pay the extra $3 for the extreme — an extra set of rooms you can go through after the regular haunted house is finished. — Marissa Brown, junior, West High School

What: Crazy Corn Maze

Where: 8800 S. 4000 West, West Jordan

Theme: Treasure Chest
