AIDS activist Jennifer Czech looks over some of the 8,500 pairs of shoes lined up at Salt Lake City's Library Square on Friday. The shoes represent the number of people who die each day worldwide from HIV/AIDS. More than 4,000 Utahns have been infected with HIV since 1981, and more than 1,000 have died. Campaign to End AIDS sponsored the shoe display.
