PROVO George Ryskamp, Brigham Young University associate professor of history and director of the Center for Family History and Genealogy, last month received the Utah Genealogical Association Fellowship Award.
Ryskamp, one of the top specialists in the world in Spanish, Portuguese and southern European family history, received a fellowship in 2003 from the international organization, the American Academy of Genealogy.
He received the award because of his contributions to the genealogical world, according to the citation. He has lectured throughout the world and will be the keynote speaker in Washington, D.C., at a conference at the National Archives.
