South Jordan-based Merit Medical Systems Inc., a manufacturer of disposable accessories used primarily in cardiology and radiology procedures, announced Wednesday that it anticipates revenues for its third quarter, which ended Sept. 30, will be about $41 million with earnings of about 12 cents per share.
Merit management said in a press release that earnings were impacted by several items, including lower gross margins due to the expansion of facilities in South Jordan, startup costs of a new custom procedure tray business in Richmond, Va., and costs associated with the addition of 17 new sales representatives.
Merit said it still believes it can achieve the lower end of its revenue guidance for the year, which was $167 million to $171 million.
The company will report its actual third quarter results Oct. 27.
