TOP SNOWBOARD PARK

The readers of Transworld Snowboarding magazine named Park City Mountain Resort the Best Park in North America for the second year in a row. The resort also was ranked second overall for Best Resort and third for Best Pipe, both up one notch from last year's rankings.

Park City will add 20 new rail and funbox features to its four award-winning terrain parks: King's Crown Superpark, Pick 'N' Shovel, Jonesy's and Payday. The Payday park is lighted for night use.

The resort also purchased a new 22-foot Zaugg superpipe cutter for the Eagle Superpipe. The superpipe walls will be five feet higher than last year and will be one of the biggest pipes in North America.

More wild turkey hunting permits will be available in Utah in 2006. The Utah Wildlife Board approved a 19 percent increase in the number of permits available for hunts this spring.

A total of 2,034 Rio Grande turkey permits will be available for the 2006 hunt compared to 1,612 this past spring. The number of Merriam's wild turkey permits also increased, from 624 available in spring 2005 to 638 for the 2006 hunt. The 2,672 total permits include limited entry permits, which are those permits available to hunters, as well as landowner, conservation and Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit permits.

Applications will be available by Nov. 29 and must be returned by Dec. 27. The drawing will be held Feb. 1.
