With the resignation of Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr.'s chief of staff, Jason Chaffetz, the governor has made several new appointments in his staff.

As previously announced, former Deputy Chief of Staff Neil Ashdown will become chief of staff when Chaffetz leaves in early November.

Current legislative liaison Mike Mower will become deputy chief of staff. And Anna Atwater has been named policy coordinator in Huntsman's office.

In a release, Huntsman said Mower was formerly the director of community and government relations for Provo city. He was the media spokesman and government affairs coordinator for Wasatch Constructors during the rebuilding of I-15 in Salt Lake County and served as district director for Rep. Chris Cannon , R-Utah.

Atwater previously worked as a budget and policy analyst in the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget and under Huntsman as assistant to the deputy chief of staff for policy.
