BASEBALL: Second-year coach David Eldredge announced Thursday the signing of 12 players for the 2006 season. The class includes Derek Job (Salt Lake CC), sophomore Dustin Wittwer (Dixie State), Alex Johnson (Springville HS), Matt Sanford (Spanish Fork HS), Levi Swenson (Viewmont HS) and Joe Wright (Dixie State).
Utah Valley
VOLLEYBALL: Utah Valley State travels this weekend to take on Wyoming and Northern Colorado. The Wolverines will meet UW on Friday at 7 p.m. UNC and UVSC will face off in Greeley, Colo., on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Weber State
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Weber State women's basketball team begins practice today at 7 p.m. in the Swenson Gymnasium.
Seven players return for the 'Cats, including starters Laura Porter, a junior point guard who led the team in assists at 3.9 per game, and sophomore Sara Tuomi. Sophomore Chelsey Warburton is the 'Cats' leading scorer with 8.0 points per game. Also returning are junior Shantee Releford, senior Ninon Salemon and sophomores Tashina Taylor and Taryn Kellogg.
For the fourth straight season Weber State posted an 11-3 record in Big Sky action. Overall the Wildcats finished at 21-8.
