Besides fears about Waldholtz's record involving the finances of family members, Greene also expressed worries about Waldholtz's admission in court that he has used heroin and what Greene described as a long history of "lying to and manipulating" other people, particularly loved ones.

"I have concerns about every aspect of his life because even when he tells you, 'I did this. I did heroin, but only for six weeks and it was 10 years ago,' you have no idea if he's telling you the truth," Greene said.

Greene said she would not object to future contact between the girl and Waldholtz.

"When she's older and if she wants to see him, then she and I will discuss it and how we're going to do it. I will never block her from having contact with him, but I will make sure that contact is supervised and arranged in such a way for her protection, not simply on Joe's terms."

Greene said Elizabeth is enjoying fifth grade, has lots of friends and outside interests, and has male relatives and family friends who are positive male role models. "The fathers of her friends have been very sweet in including her at times when it's awkward to not have a dad there. Like any single parent, you just make it work."
