Nearly 1,100 women in Utah will be affected by breast cancer. Today, hundreds of women, their families and friends will join the fight against the disease during the City of Hope's Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City.
The walk raises money for the center.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. The 5k timed run starts at 10 a.m. and the 5k timed walk at 10:05 a.m. The 5k leisure walk starts at 10:10 a.m. There will be donated refreshments from Starbucks, Naked Juice and Great Harvest Bread Co. To register, donate or volunteer, visit www.walk4hope.org/saltlakecity. All paid registrants receive an official Walk for Hope T-shirt.
Salt Lake City is home to the Julie Wright New Millennium Chapter of City of Hope, which has a board of directors, members and raises money through the walk and "Food for Hope" in May.
