Proxy baptisms desecrate dead

Lori Walker (Readers' Forum, Oct. 7), states that LDS missionaries "do not try to tear down your chosen religion or desecrate items sacred to your beliefs." LDS missionaries promote the agenda of the LDS Church, which teaches that all non-LDS religions are wayward and lack authority from God. These same missionaries also support LDS proxy baptism for the dead. Mormons may argue that all deceased who have been subjected to LDS proxy ordinances have a choice to say yea or nay in the hereafter, but the practice of baptism for the dead desecrates the memory of our ancestors.
