SANDY — A 17-year-old boy was in critical condition Tuesday following a rollover.

About 2:45 p.m., the teenager was driving a pickup when it flipped near 1300 East and 10600 South. The airborne truck hit a large utility vehicle in the oncoming traffic lane, said Sandy Police Sgt. Mitch Howard.

The driver suffered head trauma and was flown to a local hospital, he said. No one else was injured.

It was raining at the time of the accident, and detectives were investigating whether speed or weather conditions were factors.
