How fair is it that Matheson gets his name regularly in the newspaper? How fair is it that he's constantly on radio and television? How fair is it that he has a staff of advisers who conduct research for him and counsel him on the issues?

For that matter, how fair is it that someone named Matheson — a name that engenders high respect in Utah politics — should be able to run against anyone not named Matheson?

Life isn't fair and that goes double for politics.

That sounds like a good topic for an upcoming Doug Wright Show — to be hosted in the near future by Doug Wright and his new co-host, Rep. Jim Matheson, whom you can now hear daily, Monday through Friday, expressing his views and taking your calls from 9 to noon.

Be careful what you ask for.
