The U.S. Labor Department on Monday announced $6.3 million in grants for Utah and four other Rocky Mountain states to strengthen unemployment compensation systems.
The grants, part of a $63 million nationwide allocation, are to be used to support states in prevention, detection and recovery of improper benefit payments; promote quick re-employment; and strengthen data integrity and security.
Utah's portion of the grant is $2.64 million.
