Housing authorities receive federal grants

Several Utah housing authorities will receive federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The grants, announced Thursday by U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, will be used for administration of home ownership programs. The funds are used to pay the salaries of program coordinators in local housing agencies.

The Utah agencies receiving HUD's Housing Choice Voucher-Family Self Sufficiency Grant are:

• Provo City Housing Authority: $78,488

• Housing Authority of Utah County: $42,334

• Housing Authority of Salt Lake County: $87,487

• Housing Authority of Ogden: $54,307

• Housing Authority of Salt Lake City: $97,317

• Davis County Housing Authority: $37,081

• Cedar City Housing Authority: $50,300
