Elephant parade ushers in circus

A parade of elephants in downtown Salt Lake City today will announce the arrival of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

The parade of creatures, clowns and elephants will follow a police motorcycle patrol at noon. The route goes west from 100 South and 400 West to Rio Grande Street, then to 50 North, over to South Temple and ends at the southeast corner of the Delta Center Plaza on 300 West and 100 South.

After the parade, the elephants will stomp and eat watermelons. For more information, visit www.ringling.com.
