WEST VALLEY CITY Residents will have a chance to meet the candidates seeking city office at Wednesday's Meet the Candidates Night. The city will host the event at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 3600 S. Constitution Blvd. (2700 West).
All candidates running for seats in the 2005 municipal election will be introduced, although questions will be directed to candidates running in the Oct. 4 primary election. There will be five candidates facing off in the primary to fill one four-year at-large City Council seat.
The mayor's seat is also up for election this year, but there are only two candidates running and there will be no primary for that race.
The general election is Nov. 8. To vote in the primary and general elections, residents must be registered to vote at their current address. Registration information is available at www.clerk.slco.org/html/register.html.
