SALEM Nebo School District officials are shoring up land for a new high school.
Nebo's Board of Education recently voted to spend more than $1.17 million for land surrounding the site of the future school.
The various pieces of land were owned by developers and homeowners.
The school district received about 14.5 acres of property.
Construction for the Salem high school is slated to begin in April, said Steve Maughan, Nebo's director of operations.
The Salem high school will accommodate 1,500 students, and will alleviate over-crowding at the district's other three high schools Springville, Payson and Spanish Fork.
