Fiber art, paintings beautifully juxtaposed

"With human figures, my goal is to allow the paint to dictate image," she writes. "I value wrinkles and scars, where we bend, where we break, how we lose our power and how we gain it back." As a result of Brinckerhoff's goal, her paintings tend to be more abstracted.

"I am intrigued by the multiple of small moments that pool together to create the endlessly different ways that we move through this world. My paintings are an attempt to snatch these simple moments."

Visitors to Phillips Gallery will delight in the vision of these two artists as well as the antipodal positioning of the work.
