OREM Employees of SecurityMetrics spent almost 20 minutes in their parking lot Tuesday afternoon after an employee received a bomb threat via e-mail.
Orem police told the employees to evacuate the building, which sits just west of I-15, while they searched through the building, looking for anything suspicious.
Employees of World Financial Group, who share the building, were also evacuated.
Four officers searched but found nothing, and the employees returned to work around 2:45 p.m.
The e-mail, forwarded to SecurityMetrics, an Orem-based data security company, was short and simple and said essentially, "you have a bomb in your building," said Ann Henry, communication director and office manager.
"It's better to be safe than sorry," Henry said about the company's choice to alert police.
