L-3 division in S.L. awarded $83 million Army contract

New York-based L-3 Communications said Monday that its Salt Lake-based Communication Systems-West division has been awarded an $83 million contract modification from the U.S. Army for production of a Phoenix Satcom terminal.

The terminal is mounted on vehicles and can operate in any one of four configurable radio frequency bands.

CS-West provides communication systems for intelligence collection, imagery processing and satellite communications for the defense industry.
