Literary footnotes
DAVE PELZER, author of "A Child Called It," will speak on Monday, 7 p.m., Davis County Library's South Branch, 725 S. Main, Bountiful. He will also sign copies of his new book, "Help Yourself for Teens." Doors open at 6:30, but seating is limited. NICHOLE SAUNDERS, INDERPAL GREWAL, KATHRYN A. SLOAN, LAURA BENITEZ BARBA, PABLO PICCATO and ANDRAE MARAK are among the lecturers and speakers for the Third National Colloquium on the History of Women and Gender in Mexico, Wednesday-Saturday at various locations on the University of Utah campus (www.diversity.utah.edu).
ALEX CALDIERO and MELISSA BOND, performance poets, will give a presentation, Wednesday, 7 p.m., Salt Lake City Main Library, Sponsored by City Art.

JEFF NICHOLS, author of "Prostitution, Polygamy and Power"; KIM ZARKIN, author of "Anti-decency Groups and the Federal Communications Commission"; CHARLES EHIN, author of "Hidden Assets: Harnessing the Power of Informal Networks"; and GREG GAGNE, author of "Computer Science Concepts with Java," will sign copies of their books at a faculty booksigning, Saturday, 1:30-3:30 p.m., Shaw Student Center Lounge, Westminster College, 1840 S. 1300 East.
THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM ON THE HISTORY OF WOMEN AND GENDER IN MEXICO will be held at the University of Utah's Gould Auditorium, Marriott Library, Thursday-Saturday. Scholars from Mexico and the United States will discuss a range of topics in Mexican history (581-5201).
