Other events to enjoy in Cedar City

Several community events are scheduled in Cedar City during September and October in connection with the Utah Shakespearean Festival's fall season.

CEDAR CITY ARTS FESTIVAL, Sept. 24, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., on the lawn in front of the Randall L. Jones Theatre, featuring the creative work of more than 40 artists from Utah, Arizona, Colorado and Nevada (free). Live entertainment and food will also be available.

"HOME AGAIN," the third annual Color Country Quilt Gathering, being held Sept. 30-Oct. 1, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. in the King's Pavilion, a giant tent at the corner of 200 West and Center Street (free).

ANNUAL GREAT PUMPKIN FESTIVAL, Oct. 15, on the lawn adjacent to the Randall L. Jones Theatre, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., including face painting, cookie decorating, a baled-hay maze and pumpkin-carving and painting competitions, plus a seed spitting contest and pumpkin bowling ($5 per person).

THE THIRD ANNUAL "TENT OF TERROR" fund-raiser for the Utah Shakespearean Festival, Oct. 20-22, 26-29 and 30, 7-11 p.m. This year's theme is "Nightmare Asylum," and tickets (or "visitor passes") are $7 each. Parents are cautioned to exercise careful judgment about taking small children.
