OREM Two familiar names on the Utah County GOP list, Millie Ashby and Pearl Rex-Hartzell, are attending the National Federation of Republican Women Convention in Nashville today through Sunday as voting delegates. Both are board members and past-presidents of Utah County Republican Women.
Ashby and Rex-Hartzell will receive the Diamond Award for their years of service in the Republican Party during the convention. The group of more than 2,000 women leaders from around the nation will also hear from Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.), Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Rod Paige, former U.S. Secretary of Education; Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), and retired general Thomas L. Carter.
Ashby serves as the state chairwoman of the Utah Republican Women clubs.
