Snowbird
Guests and employees of Snowbird can make donations to the Red Cross as they pay for everything from Oktoberfest bratwurst to resortwide lodging and activities. Snowbird will match guest and employee donations up to $10,000.
Donations will be accepted at all of Snowbird's cash registers through Oct. 9. A similar fund-raiser at Snowbird raised $8,000 for tsunami relief earlier this year.
The 33rd Annual Snowbird Oktoberfest is underway. It will run through Oct. 9.
Oktoberfest features daily performances in the Snowbird Event Center tent.
Admission to Oktoberfest is free. Hours are noon to 6 p.m.
Snowbird's newest activity, the ZipRider, along with the Alpine Slide, trampoline and the Tram will be open.

Jordan River paddle
The Utah Rivers Council and REI will hold the Jordan River Paddle on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 6 p.m. This is a mild, family-friendly trip with canoe and kayak options. Those attending will learn about the natural history of the Jordan River and about work to restore it.

Bike hill climb
The Tour Des Suds mountain bike hill climb from Park City to Guardsman Pass will be held Saturday, Sept. 17.
The event is put on by the Mountain Trails Foundation and is A 7-mile hill climb. The race starts at the city park on Park Avenue in Park City. Registration opens at 8 a.m., and the race starts at 10 a.m. Cost is $15, and includes Mountain Trails socks. Please see www.mountaintrails.org for more information
Park City extends season
Park City Mountain Resort will extend its weekday summer operation of the PayDay chairlift through Sept. 18. The PayDay chairlift services hiking, mountain biking, Alpine Slide and ZipRider.
The Legacy Launcher and additional activities located at the base of the PayDay lift will also be open.
Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 7 p.m. to noon on Sunday.
