CAMP WILLIAMS — The Katrina Relief Hotline stopped accepting offers for assistance for evacuees located at Camp Williams Tuesday

The hotline received almost 7,000 calls. Relief officials believe there is an ample supply of resources to meet the needs of the evacuees.

All phone calls and assistance offers were entered into a database. That information is being provided to volunteer agencies that will then contact callers for their services, officials said.

Relief workers ask that Utahns not call the hotline again to find out if their offers for help will be used.

Although the hotline is no longer accepting calls, financial contributions can be made to the United Way of Utah by calling 801-736-8929 or online at www.uw.org.
