PROVO The Utah County Commission voted Tuesday to send the proposed rezoning of unincorporated land west of Payson back to the county Planning Commission to resolve questions involving irrigation.
The commission delayed a decision on the controversial issue last week because Commission Chairman Jerry Grover was absent.
Commissioners are now concerned whether enough water would be available to sufficiently irrigate the land in question if the rezoning is approved. Unless the planning commission can resolve those concerns, the proposal will likely be voted down, Commissioner Larry Ellertson said.
