Crosby Joyner

Springville Red Devils

Sport: Soccer

Class: Junior

Position: Forward

The numbers: Joyner, in her second year as a starter, is making a name for herself as one of the valley's hardest workers on the field and off. She's also considered to be one of the better finishers around. "When she gets an opportunity to score, she usually makes the most of it," Red Devils coach Ryan Swanson said. Joyner scored four goals in two Springville wins over the past week. Her most impressive statistic, however, is the two game-winning goals that she's scored this season in the final five minutes.

Travis Smith

Lehi Pioneers

Sport: Football

Class: Sophomore

Position: Running back

The numbers: The Pioneers were unsure of their running game at the start of the season, but the emergence of Smith as a big-play runner gives them a much-needed balanced attack. In last week's rout of Snow Canyon, Smith rushed for 240 yards and broke loose for three long touchdown runs. He had TD runs of 60 yards, 55 yards and 26 yards. He also had a 22-yard touchdown reception to give him four scores for the game.
