The Utah Valley Symphony will hold auditions on Sept. 7. Musicians need to perform a 3-minute solo excerpt, plus music provided. Auditioners will send them music excerpts plus time and place of audition.

PROVO — The Utah Valley Symphony will hold auditions on Sept. 7. Musicians need to perform a 3-minute solo excerpt, plus music provided. Auditioners will send them music excerpts plus time and place of audition.

OREM — Utah Lyric Opera Society and the SCERA announce auditions for two events: a stage production of Gilbert & Sullivan's "H.M.S. Pinafore," playing Nov. 11-21; and "Opera For Lovers," a concert scheduled for Feb. 13-14. Singers16 and older with opera and/or musical theater experience are invited to audition with 16-32 measures of an aria, Gilbert & Sullivan selection or a piece from musical theater. An accompanist will be available.

All parts are open. Auditions will be held at the SCERA Center, 745 S. State, Orem, Thursday and Friday, Sept. 1 and 2 from 5-7 p.m. Callbacks and dance auditions will be Saturday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to noon.
